SW IA ECI: Hosting Two OSHA Training Opportunities for Businesses!


COUNCIL BLUFFS, IOWA – June is National Safety Month and the Southwest Iowa Employers’ Council (ECI) is offering two training sessions for businesses, human resource professionals, safety personnel and supervisors.

 

“OSHA Globally Harmonized System for Hazard Communication, Effective Safety & Health Management Systems and OSHA Recordkeeping”

Trainers: Anne Jackson, OSHA Senior Industrial Hygienist and Mike Whitmore, OSHA Compliance Assistance Specialist, Iowa DOL
Date: June 18, 2013
Time: 11:30 am to 3:30 pm
Check-in begins at 11:00 am
Location: Iowa School for the Deaf, Lied Multipurpose Complex, 3501 Harry Langdon Blvd, Council Bluffs 51503
Minimal Registration Fee includes lunch and handouts
Deadline to register: Friday June 14th with Carol Morgan
HRCI: This program has been approved for 3.5 hours of General HRCI credit.

- Material Safety Data Sheets vs Safety Data Sheets
- 12-1-2013: Effective Completion Date for Employers to Train Employees
- OSHA Recordkeeping Rules and Reporting Requirements
- Effective Safety and Health Management Systems i.e: Safety Programs at Work

 

“OSHA Ten Hour Safety Training Certificate Course for GENERAL INDUSTRIES”

Trainer: Mike Whitmore, OSHA Compliance Assistance Specialist, Iowa Division of Labor
Dates: June 19 and 20, 2013 - Wednesday and Thursday
Time: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm each day.
Location: Bass Pro Shop Outdoor World, 2901 Bass Pro Drive, Council Bluffs 51503
Minimal Registration Fee includes Federal OSHA card, handouts and refreshments
Register by June 14th with Carol Morgan
HRCI: This program has been approved for 10.0 hours of General HRCI credit.

- Introduction to OSHA Standards
- Hazard Communication
- Ergonomics; Personal Protective Equipment
- Electrical Safety
- Exit Routes, Emergency Action Plans, Fire Prevention Plans
- Fall Hazards: Walking and Working Surfaces
- Powered Industrial Trucks
- Machinery and Machine-Guarding; Lock-out, Tag-out
