Principal Financial Group, Wells Fargo, Mediacom, Allied Insurance, Vermeer Manufacturing of Pella and The CBE Group are some of the area employers who have registered for the 2005 Job Expo to be held Tuesday, April 26, at the Iowa Events Center Hy-Vee Hall, Des Moines. The Expo will run from 11: 00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and is co-sponsored by the Iowa Workforce Center Partners and the Des Moines Register.
“We are encouraging employers to register by April 12 while we still have booth space,” said Tony J. Calaro, Business Service Representative with the Central Iowa Employment and Training Consortium, (CIETC). “Employers can call me at (515) 281-9701 or go to the 2005 Job Expo web site to register,” added Calaro.
Despite a state unemployment rate of 5.1%, the 2005 Job Expo is anticipating over 100 employers and 2,000 job applicants. Employers will have entry-level as well as professional openings.
