Cedar Rapids Office in a Temporary Location,
Accepting Unemployment Claims and PROMISEJOBS Appointments Only

CEDAR RAPIDS – The Cedar Rapids Workforce Center has secured temporary locations for accepting unemployment claims and completing PROMISEJOBS appointments.

Individuals seeking to file unemployment claims can access IWD services at the Regis Middle School Gymnasium, 735 Prairie Drive NE, beginning at 1:00 PM today. Services will be at this temporary location until further notice. Individuals with scheduled PROMISEJOBS appointments should report to 1030 Fifth Avenue SE.

“We greatly appreciate the support of our community partners for providing us with space,” indicated IWD director Elisabeth Buck. “We’re also asking the community to be patient when seeking services. We have not been allowed back into our primary facility to collect computers and supplies, so the temporary office is processing paper unemployment insurance claims.”

Individuals interested in completing unemployment claims online may access www.iowaworkforce.org and those interested in new employment opportunities may search available positions at www.iowajobs.org. Both services are available 24/7 from any Internet based computer. Individuals seeking online access are encouraged to go to a public library or the Iowa Workforce Development Center in Iowa City.
