Diversity in the Workplace Workshop

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA - The Region 10 Employers’ Councils of Iowa, Iowa Workforce Development, and the Professional Technical Diversity Network will be sponsoring a workshop entitled “Diversity in the Workplace … Challenges, Differences and Solutions. The workshop will be conducted on Wednesday, August 3, 2005, from 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at the South Slope Cooperative, 980 North Front Street, North Liberty.

The workshop will be an energetic exploration of issues, strategies/techniques for diversity success in the workplace. For managers the workshop will help with recruiting, hiring, and retaining. For co-workers the workshop will provide strategies for success and there will be a Question and Answer session to address specific needs/issues.

Dr. Eddie Moore, Jr., Director of Intercultural Life, Central College, will be the featured speaker. Dr. Moore received his B.A. degree in Political Science from Cornell College in Mount Vernon and a Master’s in Educational Administration. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Iowa in Social Foundations. Dr. Moore provides diversity training for businesses, schools and city governments locally and internationally.

There is a $35.00 fee per person for the workshop.
