Decorah, IA. - With increasing health care costs, “health savings accounts” are becoming a common benefit to employees. A health savings account (HSA) is a tax advantaged savings plan (a financial account with various restrictions) available to taxpayers to cover current and future medical expenses. It allows money to be put in before tax is paid on it and then to withdraw the money tax free for qualified medical expenses. If your business is considering this benefit and looking for information about Health Savings Accounts, a resource is being made available at no charge on Thursday, February 16, 2006.
Susan Voss, Commissioner of Iowa Insurance Department, will be presenting on this topic at Decorah City Hall, Council Chambers, 400 Clairborne Drive, Decorah, from 10:30 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. Ms. Voss is a graduate of Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa and a J.D. from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. She was appointed Insurance Commissioner by Governor Tom Vilsack in January 2005. Registration for this workshop can be completed by calling the Decorah Iowa Workforce Office at (563) 382-0457 ext. 111 or ext. 114. Please leave your name and company you are with. There is NO charge for this event.
