DES MOINES, IOWA – The Iowa Division of Labor Services has opened an investigation regarding allegations that three people were injured Monday, July 24, 2006, at approximately 1:00 p.m. on the Tornado Roller Coaster at Adventureland in Altoona. The Tornado has been inspected by Division of Labor Services’ amusement ride inspectors and is currently operating.
The Division of Labor Services regulates amusement rides pursuant to Iowa Code Chapter 88A that requires ride operators to obtain annual permits to operate. All amusement rides are inspected annually in Iowa.
