DES MOINES – Progressive levels of reduced funding for workforce services has forced Iowa Workforce Development to close 15 offices throughout the state. Effective June 16, 2006, services will no longer be provided in Guthrie Center and services will cease in Jefferson on June 26th.

“The decision to close offices was a difficult one,” indicated Workforce Development Manager Lori Wirtz. “Many of our customers will find it necessary to travel to surrounding counties for workforce services.”

Iowa Workforce Development is committed to providing quality, customer-friendly services throughout the state in the remaining 54 offices.
