DUBUQUE, IOWA - The fifth annual Dubuque Regional Employer Conference and Job Fair is scheduled for Tuesday, September 27, 2005, at the Northeast Iowa Community College Town Clock Center for Professional Development, 680 Main Street, Dubuque.
Barbara Tapscott, an employment attorney with Iowa Workforce Development, will be the guest presenter addressing “Sexual Harassment and Consensual Workplace Romances” for interested managers, front line supervisors, and human resource professionals. The presentation is slated for 10:00 a.m. - 11:45 a.m., with conference registration beginning at 9:00 a.m. Two recertification points are available for human resource professionals.
Connecting job seekers with employment opportunities is the goal of the Job Fair, to be held from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p. m. at the same location. If employers are looking to expand their employee base or are having difficulty filling positions, this is the place to be. Last year over 55 businesses showcased their place of employment. Businesses can promote employment opportunities for job seekers throughout the Tri-State region. Job seekers will have the opportunity to meet with area businesses at the job fair.
Prior to the event Iowa Workforce Development will provide assistance in resume preparation, and interviewing techniques. These sessions are at no charge to the participants at the Dubuque Iowa Workforce Development Center, 590 Iowa Street. During the job fair, human resources professionals will be available to review resumes and a computer lab will be available for participants to make revisions.
Registration for businesses is required to attend the conference and to have a booth at the job fair. The fees are conference only $35 per person; job fair booth only $100 per employer; the conference, lunch, and job fair booth combination is $125.
