Hiring Immigrants in Iowa
ALGONA, IOWA - The Kossuth County Employers’ Council (ECI) will be meeting on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at 12:00 (noon) at Pizza Ranch, 1325 Hwy. 169 N., Algona, Iowa. All employers, human resource personnel, accounting, payroll, and other staff members are invited to attend. Featured speaker will be Norma De La O, Coordinator for the New Iowan Center of Sioux City.
New Iowans Centers were created to provide an infrastructure/network for serving foreign nationals, a community one-stop for anyone new to Iowa, and coordination of services to immigrants. The focus of the New Iowan Centers is to help ANYONE new to Iowa, whether from another state or another nation, with needs they may have associated with relocation.

Immigration Assistance Focus: To assist and update individuals and corporations with immigration issues: forms, TPS, EAD, new laws and regulations, etc.

• Work Authorization Documents
• TPS Workers
• Referral to appropriate agencies to fill out USCIS application or to USCIS attorneys in complicated cases.
• Referrals to citizenship classes
• Updates on USCIS laws and regulations (work related issues)
• Alien Labor Relations
• Compliance with the I-9 requirements
• USCIS hiring regulations
• Statewide referrals

The Kossuth County Employers’ Council is a local employer group supported by Iowa Workforce Development Region 3 and 4, and is part of the statewide Employers’ Council of Iowa system.
