Southwest Iowa ECI “Workers’ Compensation Laws in Iowa: Policies & Procedures”


COUNCIL BLUFFS, IOWA – Concerned about how Workers’ Compensation law is changing – and how your business practices may be impacted? The Southwest Iowa Employers’ Council (ECI) will host a training session on “Workers’ Compensation Laws in Iowa: Policies and Procedures”. Features speaker will be Marji Shade, Iowa Workers’ Compensation Compliance Administrator with Iowa Workforce Development.

Two training sessions will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2008:

 

• 11:15 am to 1:30 pm in Council Bluffs at Iowa Western Community College, 2700 College Rd.
• 2:30 pm to 4:45 pm in Atlantic at the Atlantic Golf & Country Club, 102 West 29th Street.

 

All employers, supervisors, human resource personnel, recruiters, attorneys, paralegals, business owners, line managers and payroll staff are invited to attend. Pre-registration is requested to Carol Morgan, (712) 242-2131 or

. There is a minimal registration fee to attend which includes handouts, refreshments and meeting expenses. This program has been approved for 2.0 (General) recertification credit hours toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) and a certificate will be provided.

Marjorie L. Shade has been a Workers’ Compensation Compliance Administrator with the Division of Workers’ Compensation, Iowa Workforce Development for over 20 years. She received her B.S. from Drake University in 1980 and her Masters from Kings Way International Seminary.

• Roles and Responsibilities of the Employer, Employee and others
• Workers’ Compensation and our Immigrant Work Force
• Modified Duty
• Supervisors’ Roles
• This is a “hold-harmless” informational session; any and all questions are welcome!

 

The Southwest IA Employers’ Council is a local employer group supported by Iowa Workforce Development Region 13 including Harrison, Shelby, Pottawattamie, Mills, Cass, Freemont and Page counties, and is part of the statewide Employers’ Council of Iowa system. All businesses, including Iowa, Nebraska and Missouri employers are welcome to attend ECI events. This employer’s group addresses workforce issues, and provides both educational and networking opportunities for employers and human resource professionals.
