Iowa Workforce Development Provides Additional Support for Businesses, Workers Affected by Thursday's Tornadoes

DES MOINES – In response to the tornado damage in Pella and Marshalltown, a temporary IowaWORKS Center has opened in Pella and the IowaWORKS Center in Marshalltown will have additional staff available.

The temporary office in Pella is located at The Well Resource Center, 419 E. Oskaloosa St. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Well phone number is 641-621-0164 ext. 706.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the residents and businesses in Pella, Marshalltown and Bondurant," said Beth Townsend, Director, Iowa Workforce Development. "We know this is a challenging time for these communities. Our IowaWORKS staff is available to work with business leaders and employees whose jobs may be displaced because of the storms. We appreciate The Well providing temporary office space so we can quickly have a physical presence in Pella."

The IowaWORKS Center in Marshalltown did not sustain storm damage. The office, located at 3405 S. Center St., is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
