Change in Procedures for Release of Local Labor Force Data

DES MOINES, IOWA – Due to the extensive changes that were implemented in the Local Area Unemployment Statistics (LAUS) program in 2005, Iowa is exchanging files with a larger number of states than in the past. The time that is needed to receive and process these files has made it difficult to release local labor force data at the same time that the statewide information is available. To keep the release of the statewide information on schedule, Iowa Workforce Development will continue to adhere to the third Thursday of the month for the release of the statewide estimates.
