IOWA CITY - On Thursday, November 10 the Iowa City Employers’ Council of Iowa (ECI) will be sponsoring a seminar emphasizing each individual’s personal power to treat others with dignity and respect regardless of the appearance or situation. The seminar will be held from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Iowa City Sheraton, 210 South Dubuque Street.
As a society we have come to a point where people often treat each other as objects and opportunities rather than as human being who are worthy and entitled to be treated with dignity and respect. We exercise that power when we recognize and use our ability to become the observer and step outside of the situation and our own reactions long enough to gain perspective. This session is great for refining customer service skills, improving employee interactions, relationships, and for anyone who works with or interacts with people.
After attending the seminar, participants should be able to define dignity and respect, identify the five basic human needs and translate these to address any situation.
The seminar presenter is Gail Pursell Elliott the “The Dignity and Respect Lady”. She is a speaker, author, trainer and consultant, graduate of Penn State University, member of American Mensa and founder of Innovations “Training With A Can-Do Attitude” located in Roland, Iowa. Gail has over 20 years of professional experience in administration, recruitment, training, and motivation. She travels nationally to conduct staff and supervisory training for both profit and non-profit organizations.
The seminar registration fee is $35 with a registration deadline of November 9. Checks are payable to ECI with payment expected by November 10. Registrations are not refundable. Certificates will be provided for Recertification Credits.
