Northeast Iowa ECI/NICC/IWD Lunch and Learn on Workplace Violence

DUBUQUE, IOWA – The Northeast Iowa Employers’ Council (ECI) in conjunction with Iowa Workforce Development (IWD), and Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) are offering a Lunch and Learn on Workplace Violence. Lieutenant (Lt.) Scott Baxter, Crime Prevention and Public Information Officer with the Dubuque Police Department will be the guest speaker.

Workplace Violence is a growing concern for employers and employees and is the leading cause of job related deaths. Workplace violence can strike anywhere. No one is immune, and some workers are at an increased risk. Lt. Scott Baxter’s presentation will cover types of workplace violence, it’s prevalence in our world today, warning signs, prevention methods to avoid and diffuse potentially violent situations and working with law enforcement to deal with such violence.

This Lunch and Learn will be offered at the NICC Town Clock Center for Professional Development at 680 Main Street, Dubuque, Iowa from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm on Thursday, September 24, 2009.
