DES MOINES – Iowa Workforce Development has launched a newly redesigned Iowa Advantage program. The program is designed to provide Iowans access to tailored classes designed to meet the immediate needs of employment transition. The program contains four classes, 2 to 4 hours in length, available at the local Iowa Workforce Development Center at no cost.
“Iowa Advantage effectively meets the immediate needs of Iowans looking to redirect their employment situation and deal with the lifestyle changes that can result from an unplanned transition”, states Lori Adams, Bureau Chief, Workforce Center Administration. The Iowa Advantage classes assist Iowans with developing new or improved job search skills; developing appropriate resumes and broadening interviewing skills; understanding available financial options and resources; by providing insight into managing stressful situations during an employment change; and development of the necessary skills for success in a new position.
Iowa Advantage classes are offered throughout the state on a continual or as needed basis. For more information on the program, contact your nearest Iowa Workforce Development Center or access www.iowaworkforce.org.
Iowa Workforce Development provides critically needed programs and services to Iowans and employers through a statewide network of Workforce Centers and 24/7 online resources.
