DES MOINES, IOWA – Iowa Workforce Development will have a temporary office for persons who wish to apply for jobs at the 2006 Iowa State Fair. The temporary office will be housed in the southeast corner of the Varied Industries Building. This service is provided as a courtesy for State Fair employers. Positions available are dependent on the number of employer requests.
The initial sign up day is Saturday, July 29, 2006 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Applicants should be prepared to stand in long lines! All applicants will need to show proof of their social security number. Applicants under 18 years of age will need to bring their state-issued birth certificate or passport. Applicants under 16 years of age will need a parent or guardian approval of work hours for the required work permit.
After the initial sign up day, the office will be open August 5th, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., August 8-11th, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and August 14-17th, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
