Des Moines, Iowa - The states of Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin will be co-sponsoring a Tri-State Peer-to-Peer Youth Forum on August 23, 2006, at the Radisson Plaza Hotel in downtown Rochester, Minnesota. This is the first time the three states have sponsored an event focusing on youth practioners and young adults. Iowa Workforce Development is the state agency coordinating activities for Iowa participants.

Thirty workshops on topics geared towards staff that works with youth will be presented at the forum. Presenters from all three states will provide practical hands-on advice and strategies for working with economically disadvantaged and at-risk youth, meeting the needs of employers, and preparing youth for success. Attendees will gain valuable information, ideas, and resources to take back to use in their communities.

There is a $40.00 registration fee for the forum that includes lunch and all materials. Registrations are to be received no later than August 4, 2006.
