One Door, Many Paths: A Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Partners’ Conference to be Held in Altoona
Altoona, IA — The partner agencies, leading Iowa’s implementation of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), will host One Door: Many Paths, bringing partnership, innovative design and customer service to the workforce delivery services. Who:
Iowa Workforce Development, Iowa Department of Education, Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services, and Department for the Blind are holding an unprecedented conference that will allow participants to comprehensively discuss and address workforce issues across the state.
These agencies are also collaborating with the Department of Human Services, Department of Corrections, Department on Aging, and Economic Development Authority in an unprecedented cross-agency effort to streamline workforce services in Iowa. Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) and the International Association of Workforce Professionals (IAWP) are also contributing partners.
Why:
WIOA is being implemented to continue building Iowa’s talent pipeline and aligning workforce services. This will ensure our state has a workforce ready to fill the high-quality, well-paying jobs and careers of today and tomorrow. WIOA legislation encourages seamless integration of government, public and private sector organizations to help job seekers receive the appropriate tools and resources at the right time.
