Vocational Training, Education, and Supplies Funding for Qualifying Individuals
Individuals who have sustained an injury to the shoulder resulting in permanent partial disability for which compensation is payable and who are unable to return to gainful employment because of such disability may request an evaluation to determine eligibility for participation in vocational training and education.
Overview of Program:
The individual requests evaluation utilizing the electronic request form below.
The individual participates in evaluation at an IowaWORKS location.
The individual is determined either eligible or ineligible to participate in training.
If determined eligible, the individual is referred to the community college nearest their place of residence to participate in, at minimum, a training program resulting in an associate degree or certificate program in one of the following industries:
- Family and Consumer Sciences
- Health Occupations
- Industrial Technology
Eligible individuals shall be entitled to up to $15,000 of financial support to be used for the payment of tuition and fees and the purchase of required supplies.
