Dubuque, IA- - - To better understand common perceptions of the aging workforce and how this phenomenon will impact the modern workplace, a workshop, “Aging Workforce: Occupational Health, Safety, and Legal Issues” is being offered Wednesday, October 4, 2006, from 7:30 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. at NICC Town Clock Center for Professional Development, 680 Main St., Dubuque.
Participants will be able to discuss aging workforce demographic trends and the special productivity advantages, safety risks, and health issues of the aging workforce, plus understand some of the legal ramifications in hiring, terminating, and managing older employees, under current employment laws. The intended audience includes area employers, Human Resource and Safety personnel, Risk Managers, Social Workers, Occupational Health Care Professional and Workers Compensation Case Managers. CEU’s will be available for Nurses and Social Workers at an additional charge.
The training will be presented by two speakers: Terry Stentz, an Associate Professor in the college of Engineering and Technology, Department of Construction Management, University of Nebraska, Lincoln, Nebraska and Stephen Krumpe, an attorney in practice for 21 years in employment law and currently practicing with O’Connor & Thomas P.C. Tom Osterholz of TRICOR Safety Consulting assures attendees will be satisfied, “Terry Stentz will capture your attention and peak your motivation.
