An Analysis of the Transition from Postsecondary Education into the Workforce
Education Outcomes research is used to assist colleges in determining the effectiveness of their educational programming as it relates to the students’ transition into the workforce.
Iowa Workforce Development provides wage record data from the state’s unemployment insurance database, which is also used to answer questions regarding student employment rates, earning levels and industries of employment. Further analysis can be provided based on student characteristics indicated by the postsecondary institution including award type, major and demographics.

The Iowa Community Colleges Education Outcomes: Diploma, Certificate and Associate Degree Programs report, in part, analyzes employment and earnings as they relate to education and training. This report is a collaboration between the Iowa Department of Education Division of Community Colleges and Workforce Preparation and Iowa Workforce Development’s Research & Analysis Bureau.
