IowaWORKS Access Point Provide Lyon County Residents with Workforce Services
DES MOINES – Iowa Workforce Development has partnered with the Rock Rapids Public Library and the Little Rock Public Library to provide virtual workforce services to the area communities. The access points create access to workforce services through a familiar community location.
“The access point system provides Iowans with the opportunity to utilize workforce services in a convenient location close to home,” indicated Iowa Workforce Development director Teresa Wahlert. “With over nearly 800 access points, 15 regional centers and 4 satellite offices we have more than tripled our access for Iowans and we will continue adding locations throughout the year.”
The Rock Rapids Public Library is open noon – 5:30PM Monday, Wednesday and Friday; 10:00 – 3:30PM on Saturday and evenings from 7:00 – 9:00PM Monday through Thursday. The Little Rock Public Library is open from 2:00 – 6:00PM Tuesday through Friday and 9:00 – noon on Saturday. Both libraries are strong community partners providing activities and services that encourage community involvement for all residents.
By utilizing current community locations, Iowa Workforce Development is able to provide cohesive workforce services to a broader audience within local communities not served with a physical workforce office. Individuals can connect with a workforce professional through 866-239-0843 or live chat at an access point. The access technology is available from 8:00AM to 8:00PM, Monday through Thursday, 8:00AM to 7:00PM on Friday and 9:00AM till 2:00PM on Saturdays. Staff members will continue to be available from 8:00AM till 4:30PM Monday through Friday within the regional centers and satellite offices.
