Sioux City Workforce Center Awarded Veteran Program Incentive Funds

DES MOINES - Iowa Workforce Development announced the 2008 recipients of the Veterans Services Incentive Funds during Wednesday’s veterans’ conference. The funds are awarded to field offices going above and beyond in providing services to Iowa’s veterans at the local level.

“I’m proud of the services our staff provides throughout the state, and am honored to recognize four of our offices that have demonstrated a high level of creativity and commitment to providing services to area veterans,” said Iowa Workforce Development Director Elisabeth Buck.

The Sioux City Workforce Center credits a number of staff for providing outstanding service to veterans, both through the use of I-Works info cards, and for follow-up with homeless and near-homeless Sioux City veterans. Their entire one-stop boasts enthusiastic relationships with local veteran service organizations, including many illustrations of how those relationships led to positive referrals.

Congratulations to the Workforce Centers in Creston, Des Moines, Mason City and Sioux City for their outstanding work. Each center will receive $3,880 to support additional veteran services programming in their community.
