Employer’s Council Iowa Presents OSHA 10-Hour General Industrial Training
CRESTON, IOWA – Southern Hills Employers’ Council will be meeting on May 15th & 16th. Mike Whitmore, Compliance Assistant Specialist with Iowa Department of Labor will be providing training for individuals to earn a “10 hour OSHA General Industry Training Completion Card.” Training will take place from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM both days at Southwestern Community College, 1501 West Townline in Creston.
Program topics will include:
- Introduction to OSHA
- Walking and Working Surfaces and Falls
- Confined Spaces
- Lockout/Tag Out
- Machine Guarding
- Means of Egress
- Fire Protection
- Personal Protective Equipment
- Materials Handling
- Back Ergonomics
- Electrical Safety
- Hazard Communication
- OSHA Recordkeeping
All human resource personnel & employers are invited to attend. Pre-registration is requested by Friday May 11 to Marsha Wilson at (641) 782-2119 x 30 or firstname.lastname@example.org. This program has been approved for 10 (General) recertification credit hours towards PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI). There is a minimal registration fee to attend.
The Southern Hills Employers’ Council is a local employer group supported by Iowa Workforce Development and is part of the statewide Employers’ Council of Iowa system. All employers are welcome to attend ECI events.
