"Workforce Needs Assessment Survey, Developing Answers on the Workforce Shortage"
Workforce Needs Assessment Survey, Developing Answers on the Workforce Shortage
DES MOINES - Iowa Workforce Development (IWD) in partnership with The Association of Business and Industry (ABI), local economic development groups, and community partners, has begun the process of collecting information from employers on their workforce challenges, hard-to-fill positions, and issues surrounding workforce shortages due to attrition and retirement. The Workforce Needs Assessment/Job Vacancy Survey will provide these groups with critical information needed to best assist businesses in their region to find workers they need and better help job-seekers prepare for the market that awaits them. Letters are being sent to a sample set of businesses statewide to encourage participation and include an on-line link and case sensitive password to access the survey.
This information will be used in concert with other workforce characteristic information gathered from sources such as the Laborshed studies and employer benefits profile. The Job Vacancy Assessment is critical to help economic development & workforce professionals assist with economic growth opportunities and identifying excess jobs in their region.
