Transforming Education and the Workforce is the theme of the Governor's 2018 Future Ready Iowa Summit on Tuesday, April 3 from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. at Community Choice Credit union Convention Center in Des Moines.
The Summit brings together leaders from business and industry, education, nonprofits, elected officials, students and others to amplify the public conversation about transforming education and the workforce with a focus on expanding work-based learning and computer science instruction.
Governor Kim Reynolds is providing opening and closing remarks at the Summit. Lt. Governor Adam Gregg is welcoming attendees. In addition, the Summit is honored to have U.S. Secretary of Labor Alexander Acosta speak on "Working with Iowa to Confront Workforce Challenges." IWD Director Beth Townsend is the Summit's emcee.
